- Seven points are scored: the Ascendant, the ruler of the Ascendant, the Moon, the ruler of the Moon, the 5th cusp, the ruler of the 5th cusp, and Jupiter’s own position.
- Dignity points follow Bonatti’s scale — Rulership 5, Exaltation 4, Triplicity 3, Term (Egyptian bounds) 2, Face (Chaldean order) 1.
- Triplicity points are awarded to all three Dorothean rulers (day, night, and participating) at every point, not just the sect-appropriate ruler — this is the adaptation used for the pregnancy technique in your reference file.
- A planet bodily in the 5th house adds a flat +5 bonus to its own total.
- The planet with the highest grand total across all seven points (plus bonuses) is the Almuten.

Method notes
- Hyleg is found using Bonatti’s sequence: the Sun (if angular/11th, or 7th–9th in a masculine sign) → the Moon (if angular/succedent, in a feminine sign, and aspected by one of her own four dignity rulers) → the Ascendant or Part of Fortune, tried in the order set by whether the chart is Conjunctional or Preventional → finally the degree of the prenatal conjunction itself. If none qualify, the Hyleg is frustrated.
- The Part of Fortune is calculated automatically (Ascendant + Moon − Sun by day, Ascendant + Sun − Moon by night).
- Alcochoden is whichever planet makes a Ptolemaic aspect to the Hyleg and holds the greatest classical dignity (Rulership 5, Exaltation 4, sect-appropriate Triplicity 3, Term 2, Face 1) in the Hyleg’s degree; ties are broken by the tightest orb.
- Length of life starts from the Alcochoden’s Lesser/Middle/Greater planetary years, chosen by its angularity and whether it is in detriment or fall, following Bernadette Brady’s own stated default (Greater: angular, or succedent and undamaged; Middle: angular/succedent but damaged, or cadent and undamaged; Lesser: cadent and damaged). Aspecting benefics (conjunction, trine, sextile) add years; aspecting malefics (conjunction, square, opposition) subtract them.
- Periods of life (triplicity lords): the Alcochoden’s base years are divided into three equal periods, each ruled by one of the triplicity lords (day, night, participating) of the element the Alcochoden itself occupies — the sect-appropriate ruler leads, then the other primary ruler, then the participating ruler last.
- Bounds of the Moon is a separate distribution: starting from the Moon’s own natal degree, directed forward one degree per year through the Egyptian bounds (terms) — each bound’s ruler governs the years its remaining width provides, then the direction crosses into the next bound (and, once a sign is used up, the next sign’s terms), continuing until the same base years are covered.
- Aspect orbs used: 8° for conjunction, square, trine and opposition; 6° for sextile.
- The year-by-year addition/subtraction step is explicitly a judgement call even in the traditional sources. This tool applies one consistent, simplified version of it — a well-dignified or angular aspecting planet contributes its Lesser years plus its Middle years as months; a weaker one contributes Lesser years plus Middle years as days (weeks if retrograde). Treat the final number as an indication of relative vitality, not a literal prediction.
- Cadency here is read from house placement alone (angular/succedent/cadent by house number), not by exact degrees from the cusp.
