Method & Assumptions

• Life Path Number: your birth month, day, and year are each reduced to a single digit (preserving the Master Numbers 11, 22, and 33 wherever they appear), then summed and reduced once more.
• Birthday Number: simply the day of the month you were born, reduced the same way — reflecting a natural talent layered onto your Life Path.
• Attitude Number: your reduced month and reduced day summed together and reduced again — the outward approach you meet the world with, distinct from your deeper Life Path.
• The four Pinnacles are the major opportunity of each era of your life; the four Challenges are the friction to work through during that same era. Both are built from the same reduced month, day, and year, and share the same four age brackets — the first bracket ends at age (36 minus your Life Path number), and each of the next two brackets lasts nine years, with the fourth running for the rest of your life.
• Master Numbers (11, 22, 33) are preserved for the Life Path, Birthday, and Attitude Numbers; the Pinnacles can also carry 11 or 22. The Challenges are always a single digit from 0 to 8.
• The Blueprint (shown when you enter a name) is a separate, older method from the same book. Your first and middle names are combined and their letters are each given a value from A=1 through Z=26 (the surname is left out, as a family name rather than a uniquely personal one); if the combined name is fewer than nine letters, it cycles back to the start until nine letters are collected. Those nine letters are split into three groups of three: the first three plus your unreduced birth month form the Youth square, the next three plus your unreduced birth day form the Power square, and the last three plus your birth year (its digits summed once) form the Wisdom square. Your birth month, day, and once-summed year are also added together for the Life Lesson Number at the center. Each total is reduced to a single digit, preserving Master Numbers 11, 22, and 33 along the way.
