Sage Reality 11 · The Fixed Star Calculator
Which Stars Are Woven Into Your Birth Chart?
Behind your planets sit the fixed stars, the oldest storytellers in the sky. When a star sits within one degree of a planet or angle, its story becomes part of yours. Enter your birth details to see which stars were sitting on your chart the moment you were born.

Your Birth Details
Your birth time places your angles, the four doorways of your chart, which I always read first. If you do not know your birth time, your angles and your Moon are left out.

How I Read the Stars in Your Chart
The planets get most of the attention in astrology, but behind them sit the fixed stars. Every bright star in the sky has its own myth and its own energy, and when one sits right on top of a planet or an angle in your chart, I read it as part of your story.
The stars are not as fixed as their name suggests. Because the Earth wobbles slowly on its axis, the zodiac slides against the stars by about one degree every 72 years. That is why this calculator places every star where it truly was the moment you were born, and shows you how far it has moved since.
What This Calculator Shows You
- The stars woven into your chart. Every star within one degree of your planets, Chiron, the nodes and your angles, from a library of 153 stars plus the Galactic Center.
- Where each star was at your birth, and where it is today.
- Whether a Royal Star of Persia touches your chart. Aldebaran, Regulus, Antares and Fomalhaut were tied to fame and honor, and each one carries a test.
- Your Birth Stars card to save and share.
What It Is Not
The stars describe a quality of energy you can grow into. They are symbolic invitations, not predictions or promises. Nothing here is fixed or fated.

Your stars are one layer. Your Star Story Reading tells the whole story.
Your Star Story Reading ($33.33, instant PDF) tells the story of every star in your chart through the planet, sign, house and angle it touches, with the Royal Stars and their tests, the myths living in your stars, your Star Days, the year ahead and a Star Journal.

- Your birth time: converted to universal time by my chart service, with historical time zone corrections for places where the time zone database is unreliable before 1970.
- Positions: tropical zodiac, geocentric apparent positions, Placidus houses, the True Node and Chiron. Without a birth time, your angles and your Moon are left out.
- Stars: modern catalog positions moved to your birth moment with precession, nutation and each star’s own motion. A star is included when it sits within one degree of ecliptic longitude of a planet, node or angle.
- This is not the same as star parans. Parans look at which stars rise, set or culminate with your planets on the day you were born, which I use in my personal Birth Chart and Fixed Stars Reading. This calculator looks at the stars sitting right on your chart’s degrees.
