How to Use Your Planner

Thank you for ordering your personalized planner. This guide walks you through getting your planner, using it in GoodNotes or another app, and adding your dates to your calendar if you chose the calendar add-on.

1. Get your planner

Step 1. After checkout, open your order email or your order confirmation page and tap the Create My Planner link.

Step 2. Enter your birth date, exact birth time and birth city, then the city you live in now and the month you want your planner to start. Your planner runs for twelve full months from that month. Check your details carefully. You can correct them once if something was entered wrong.

Step 3. Tap Create My Planner. Your planner is built from your chart in a few seconds and downloads automatically. A copy is also emailed to you, so you always have it.

Step 4. On an iPhone or iPad, your planner saves to the Files app in the Downloads folder. On a computer, it saves to your Downloads folder. You can also open it straight from the email.

2. Use your planner in GoodNotes

Step 5. Open the planner PDF, tap the Share button, and choose GoodNotes. If you do not see it, scroll the row of apps to the end and tap More.

Step 6. Choose Import as New Document. Your planner now lives in GoodNotes with all of its pages, tabs and links.

Step 7. Pick the pen or highlighter and write right on the pages. Journal on your New and Full Moons, fill in your worksheets and jot notes on your calendar days. Tap the pen icon again to switch back to tapping links.

Step 8. Use the month tabs across the top of every page to jump to any month. Tap Contents to go back to the Contents page.

Step 9. Open the sidebar for a full list of sections and months. In GoodNotes, tap the page grid icon at the top left, then Outlines. In Apple Books, Preview and Adobe Acrobat, open the sidebar or Bookmarks panel.

3. Other apps and printing

Your planner is a standard PDF, so it works in any app that opens PDFs. Here are a few favorites:

  • Notability: tap Share, choose Notability, then Import.
  • Noteshelf or Zinnia: tap Share and choose the app, or use Import inside the app.
  • Samsung Notes or Xodo on Android: open the PDF from your Downloads and choose the app.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader, Apple Books or Preview: great for reading and tapping the links. Acrobat and Preview also let you add notes and highlights.
  • Printing: print the whole planner or just the pages you want. Letter size works best. The tabs and links only work on screen, so use the Contents page numbers to find your way on paper.

4. Add your dates to your calendar

If you added the calendar add-on, your calendar file comes in its own email and on your planner page as the Add My Dates to My Calendar button. It is a one-time file that adds every date in your planner, each with a symbol so you can tell them apart at a glance, and a reminder at 9:00 AM that morning.

Adding the calendar file to your calendar app
  • iPhone or iPad: tap the calendar file, then tap Add All and choose New Calendar.
  • Mac: double-click the file and choose a calendar.
  • Outlook: double-click the file, or in Outlook.com go to Calendar, then Add calendar, then Upload from file.
  • Google Calendar: on a computer, go to calendar.google.com, then Settings, then Import & export, and import the file. The dates then show on your phone too.

Works with: Apple Calendar on iPhone, iPad and Mac, Outlook, and Google Calendar (imported on a computer). Most other calendar apps that can import a .ics file work too. Google Calendar and some versions of Outlook do not keep imported reminders, so turn on notifications in those apps if you want them. Calendar apps that cannot import files, such as the Google Calendar phone app on its own, will not open it directly.

To remove everything at once, delete the calendar you created.
